It’s "Spooky Season" here in Jefferson, and we’re ready for Fall & Halloween! Celebrate with outdoor concerts, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, and lots of eats & sweets! From Metairie to Westwego, and places in between, we welcome you to celebrate the season with us.
 

St. Martin’s Episcopal Church Pumpkin Patch - Through October 31st

It wouldn't be fall without picking out a pumpkin to carve! The pumpkin patch is open Monday - Friday 3 pm to 6:30 pm and Saturday – Sunday 10 am to 6:30 pm. St. Martin is also teaming up with Red M Studio to offer Pumpkin Patch Photos on Sunday, October 24th.  Photographers will be taking free photos at the Pumpkin Patch from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Food or monetary donations will be accepted to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank


New Orleans Nightmare Haunted House - Through October 31st

The world-famous 13th Floor Haunted House presents a Halloween experience like none other! Located in Jefferson, under the Huey P. Long Bridge, the haunt has three new horrifying themed attractions: The Boogeyman, Operation: Laughing Place, and the Spirit of Halloween. New Orleans Nightmare will once again offer its signature attraction: Phobia; a fear-inducing maze that guests complete in total darkness, plus the new Mini Escape Games and Bar 13 for patrons 21 and up.


Gretna’s Back To The River Fall Concert Series - October 22nd & 29th

Enjoy FREE outdoor concerts every Friday night in October starting at 6 pm while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River from the Greta Amphitheatre on Huey P Long Avenue. Don’t miss Amanda Shaw and the Cute Guys on October 22nd and Herman’s Hermits feat. Peter Noone + the Yat Pack on October 29th. The concert on the 29th will benefit the Jefferson Parish Hurricane Ida relief efforts. Donations will be accepted, and donors will receive special V.I.P. seating for the event.

Make sure to stop at Gattuso’s Neighhoor Restaurant before or after the shows to enjoy one of their NEW fall cocktails: Pumpkin Spice White Russian, Harvest Apple Mule, Apple Cider Mimosa, Black Strap Mojito, and Maple Bourbon Old Fashioned.


Old Metairie Garden Club presents Music & Movie Night - October 22nd

Pack enough chairs and blankets for the whole family! The Old Metairie Garden Club invites you to join them for their Music and Movie Night on Friday, October 22, 2021. This outdoor event will feature music by the young and talented students of School of Rock from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm followed by a showing of Disney's Halloweentown. The event is free to attend and is being held at Bayou Metairie Park (2713 Metairie Road) 


Top Taco - October 28th

The 4th annual Top Taco festival takes place at Lafreniere Park on October 28th. Fest-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy unlimited tacos, signature cocktails & tequila from over 30 of the city's best restaurants, including past winners Johnny Sanchez plus Justine, Table and Tap, Los Jefes, Tacos Del Cartel & Velvet Cactus to name a few.

There will also be pop-up bars, live Latin music, tequila tastings, and other exciting things to enjoy at the fest. This year’s event is an all-inclusive taco and tequila throw-down. Once inside the festival, all food and drinks are included.


Lafreniere Park Trunk or Treat - October 29th

Enjoy trunk or treat at beautiful Lafreniere Park on October 29th! Tickets will be $5.00 per child 12 and under, and children are encouraged to dress up. There will be food trucks on-site with refreshments available for purchase.


Jefferson Performing Arts Center presents The Addams Family – October 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31

This musical follows the creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky Addams family as they grapple with their oldest daughter, Wednesday, falling in love with a not-so-spooky boy. Audiences will enjoy lots of laughs, a bit of romance, and a chorus of ghostly ancestors as an introduction to the Halloween season. The JPAC is encouraging all patrons to come in costume to any of the show's dates; especially closing night on Halloween.


Peek A Boo at the Zoo – October 22 – 24th

Celebrate Halloween with your little ghosts and goblins at Peek-a-Boo at the Zoo. This daytime celebration will provide fun for the whole family and some of your favorite Audubon Zoo animals too, ensuring your experience is filled with spooktacular memories with festive décor, seasonal treats, & themed photo opportunities. To add to the excitement, guests are invited to wear their favorite costumes as they partake in the festivities. Online reservations are required.

On October 23 and October 24 ONLY, guests will also experience: 

  • Safe and socially-distanced-friendly Trick or Treating for little ghosts and goblins
  • Create your own seasonal crafts to take home
  • Weave your way through the A-MAZE-ing Maze like a spooky spider 
  • Spooky Haunted House for the bravest guests
  • Food trucks featuring local fare

Kingfish Cider’s Pet Costume Contest - October 29th

Join Kingfish Cider for their Halloween Pet Costume Contest! What better way to celebrate the love for your pet than dressing them up in costume and showing them off to the world? Winners will receive bar tabs for the human companion and treats for the canine.

While you’re at the Cidery, make sure to try their special cocktail called The Red-Hot Mama. It’s a cinnamon-infused bourbon and cider concoction that’ll leave you feeling all warm and cozy for the fall season. It’s devilishly good and tastes shockingly similar to a Red-Hot candy. 


Westwego Farmers Market’s Trick or Treat - October 30th

The Westwego Farmers Market invites you to Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 30th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Children's activities and Halloween candy will be available along with food vendors LeBrane’s, Sweet Generations, and The Ribmaster food truck. Admission to the event is FREE and several local schools, churches, organizations, and businesses will be involved. 


Chili Cookoff on the River - October 30th

Chili Cookoff on the River is a fun-filled family event that will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, on the Gretna River Batture, Amphitheatre Side, 1st Street, and Huey P. Long Avenue. The event offers all the chili you can eat, a free Kids Korner and live music by "Chicken On The Bone!"  Food, beer, and wine will be offered for sale. Advance tickets and tickets purchased the day of the event are only $10, but the Advance ticket entitles you to enter into a FREE raffle to be drawn at 2:30 pm. Proceeds from this year's event will be split between Lafitte Diaster Relief & St. Joseph's Restoration. 


Lakeside Mall’s Malloween - October 31st 

Join Lakeside Mall for a safe and family-friendly way to trick-or-treat! Trick-or-Treat in Center Court and get in the Halloween spirit! While you're there, don't forget to take a ride on Frankie's Flying Monster Train and have your photo taken as a keepsake!


Thrillville Fair at The Shrine on Airline – October 28th – November 7th

Families looking for fall fun and excitement should head to The Shrine on Airline in Metairie from October 28th through November 7th. Thrillville is bringing a redefined fair experience with Circus shows, xGame performing athletes, 20+ carnival rides, classic fair food, and extreme Pogo stunt team, plus so much more!


¿Qué Pasa? FestivalNovember 6th & 7th

Que Pasa Fest is an annual festival at Lafreniere Park that celebrates Hispanic heritage in the Greater New Orleans area. This free admission family festival is an event like no other uniting people through music, food, and dance. Like every year, 2021 will not disappoint with the musical lineup, food booths, and community outreach booths that are available at the Fest for people to enjoy. The children's area will once again be there for the little ones to play in. Because we are a free admission festival, the festival producers ask that you do not bring outside food or drinks to the event but rather, support the vendors and Cervantes Foundation with your purchases at the Fest. 


Amanda Shaw’s Bayou Relief Concert – November 12th

The Amanda Shaw Foundation is bringing her Bayou Relief Tour to Lafreniere Park on November 12th at 3 pm! Stop by and enjoy complimentary hot food and a taste of Louisiana culture with live music by Amanda Shaw & the Cute Guys.

As we’re all rebuilding after Hurricane Ida, the Bayou Relief Tour will give you access to industry professionals who will share key tools, resources, and information needed to rebuild stronger. Come join Amanda for an afternoon of live music, delicious food, and a little help with the rebuilding process.


49th Annual Fall Festival at Destrehan Plantation - November 13th & 14th

Destrehan Plantation's Annual Fall Festival opens from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 13th, and Sunday, November 14th, 2021. Admission for a full day is $8.00 per adult or teen, $5.00 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. The house tour is an additional cost for adults and teens and free for children 12 and under.

Craft vendors throughout the United States showcase their talent and sell their handcrafted items. The mule barn promises to captivate the antique collector with distinctive pieces from antique dealers throughout Louisiana. Cajun and Creole food lovers can dine in the picnic area while enjoying live entertainment from Les Bons-Riens, Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition, Faith Becnel, and Kayla Woodson
