Jefferson Parish has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2019 honor by The Advocate and Nola.Com. Over 900 companies were in the running for a total of 50 Top Workplaces Awards. Jefferson Parish was among seven other large companies in the area to receive the award which is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by research partner Engage, LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplaces culture, including alignment, execution and connection just to name a few.

“Top Workplaces is more than just recognition,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of Energage. “Our research shows organizations that earn the award attract better talent, experience lower turnover, and are better equipped to deliver bottom-line results. Their leaders prioritize and carefully craft a healthy workplace culture that supports employee engagement.”

“I have always said that Jefferson Parish has one of the hardest working and most talented workforces now I understand why: they enjoy working here,” said President Michael Yenni. “I was so humbled to hear that our executive staff, managers and supervisors are creating a work environment that people truly want to be a part of and work in. This award is really a testament of the work every employee has put in to ensure we are all working as a team and towards one common goal of making Jefferson Parish the best place to live, work and do business in.”

“Becoming a Top Workplace isn’t something organizations can buy,” Claffey said. “It’s an achievement organizations have worked for and a distinction that gives them a competitive advantage. It’s a big deal.”
