Jefferson Parish Murals

Looking for the perfect selfie spot? Jefferson Parish is brimming with public art and wall murals.

These lively and colorful pieces can revitalize a neighborhood, promote a sense of community, support local artists, inspire creativity and just make you feel good as you pass by!

Come with us on a journey through Jefferson Parish as we find unique murals painted by local and internationally known artists!

Fat City

The Fat City Mural Project has given the area a new visual identity by adding 10 murals by local & nationally recognized artists to highly visible community walls in the Fat City area. The collection is one of the largest public mural projects in the Deep South & a majority of the murals are within walking distance along North Arnoult and 18th Street.

Check out the murals below!

"Bead Dogs" by Connor Hollis & Amorette Lana

3226 N. Arnoult Road (behind Akira Sushi & Hibachi)

"Imaginatarium" by Forrest Reiff

3020 N. Arnoult Road (on the side of David Art & Drafting)

"Dreams" by Robert Dafford

3613 Hessmer Avenue (across from Orange Theory Fitness)

"She Dreamed of a Place Called Fat City" by Candy Chang

3220 Edenborn Avenue (left to Los Jefes Grill)

"Legs in the Air" by Kyle Bravo

3815 Hessmer Avenue (behind Ideal Market)

"The Masquerade View" by Luis Hurtado

2904 Severn Avenue (next to Breaux Mart Grocery Store)

"In Fat City" by Robert Dafford

3521 18th Street (across from Drago's Seafood Restaurant)

"Everyone's in the Belly of Some Beast" by Chris Pavlik

3116 N. Arnoult Road (next to Chronos Body)

Did you know that students from Grace King High School also painted seven wall murals in Fat City? 16 art students painted public murals depicting the unique character of Fat City at the intersection near Edenborn & West Esplanade.

Bucktown

This long mural right near R&O's Restaurant in Bucktown was painted by Robert Dafford and Kelly Turan. It's a tribute to Bucktown's past, featuring fishing boats, wildlife, seafood and other symbols of bygone Bucktown.

Gretna

Right across the river from our famous neighbor is Gretna. I've already mentioned the Popeyes mural, but there's also a stunning mural on the German-American Cultural Center. Painted by Robert Dafford, this mural depicts scenes of Gretna's German heritage.

Local artist, Keith Eccles teamed up with the Popeyes Foundation to create the "Love That" mural that can be found on 1st Street & Huey P Long Ave. This wall art was featured in a national Popeyes TV commercial for popcorn shrimp that aired on television in 2019.
