Family Gras is a FREE event that features the spectacle of Mardi Gras parades, cuisine, local art, a kids' court, and outdoor concerts by national artists as well as Louisiana favorites!
Family Gras features a wide variety of musical talent that the entire family can enjoy. The Beach Boys, Brett Eldredge, Cyndi Lauper, Martina McBride, Ann Wilson, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Marshall Tucker Band, The Pointer Sisters, Zac Brown Band, Lauren Aliana, Leann Rimes, and many others have performed in the past.
Shop the Art Market for items such as Louisiana photography, hair accessories, hand-crafted jewelry, and more. Our Kids' Court has various activities for kids 12 and younger, such as face painting, hand-wax art, and interactive games.
After the music ends, stay for an up-close look at the krewes of Excalibur, Symphony, and Madhatters as they roll in front of the Family Gras site on Friday and Saturday nights.

The top televised saltwater tournament series in the country will be in Jefferson Parish during Family Gras with three days of competition on the Elite Redfish Series.
The first two days for the anglers will be qualifying rounds in the beautiful redfish-filled waters of Bayou Segnette State Park, with weigh-ins held each day at the Boomtown Casino and Hotel. After 2 days of competition, the top 5 anglers with the heaviest limits of live redfish weighed in will move on to fish day 3’s final round. The final day’s weigh in of the "fab 5" will take place at the Family Gras festival grounds on the main stage.

Celebrate Carnival season at the 7th Annual Mardi Gras 5K and Kids' Half Mile, produced by the New Orleans Track Club! Race day is Saturday, February 3, 2024. The race start and finish are at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Boulevard and North Causeway Boulevard in front of Lakeside Shopping Center.
The Mardi Gras 5K & Kids' Half Mile are family-friendly runs/walks, with the race finish coinciding with Jefferson Parish's Family Gras festival. Refreshments and beer are available for participants post-race. Additional food and beverages will be available for purchase. Race winners will be presented awards on the Family Gras stage, and all participants are granted early admission to the Family Gras site.
