When the engines fire up on Lake Pontchartrain, you’ll know you’re in Jefferson Parish. After nearly twenty years, the P1 Offshore Grand Prix is back with roaring boats on the water and festival spirit along the levee. This isn’t just a race weekend. It’s a celebration of speed, sound, and Southern grit.
This high-speed weekend event at the Bonnabel Boat Launch will feature an exciting lineup of activities, including a boat poker run, speed trials, a parade of boats, and a lively party in the pits complete with food vendors and live entertainment.
Spectators can expect to see top boat speeds between 100–200 mph on a wide oval course with no tight turns - perfect for thrilling, fast-paced action.
The festivities kick off with a Friday night (June 25th) and the excitement continues all weekend with a variety of races and events for all ages to enjoy.
Free parking will be available at several nearby locations, including Haynes Academy (4301 Grace King Pl, Metairie, LA 70002), and 3501 Ridgelake Dr Metairie, LA 70002. Complimentary parish-provided shuttles will transport attendees to and from the lakefront throughout the weekend.

Boats will be allowed to anchor and view the races from the water, provided they stay behind the designated race perimeter. However, no boat launches will be permitted from either the Bonnabel or Bucktown boat launches during the event weekend.
