It’s "Spooky Season" here in Jefferson, and we’re ready for Fall & Halloween!
Celebrate with outdoor concerts, fall festivals, haunted houses, and lots of trick or treating! From Metairie to Westwego, and places in between, we welcome you to celebrate the season with us.
Fall Events
Gretna Festin' Fall Concert Series
October 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2026
Enjoy FREE outdoor concerts Saturday nights in October starting at 5 pm while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Mississippi River from the Gretna Riverfront Amphitheater on Huey P Long Avenue.

¿Qué Pasa? Festival
October 10-11, 2026 | 11:00 am - 9:00 pm
Que Pasa Fest is an annual festival at Lafreniere Park that celebrates Hispanic heritage in the Greater New Orleans area. This free, family festival is an event like no other uniting people through music, food, and dance. In 2026 Que Pasa Fest is celebrating its 15th anniversary with signature moments inspired by quinceañera celebrations. Throughout the festival attendees can enjoy Latin American cuisines from more than 20 food vendors, live music, and vendor booths featuring nonprofits, artists and businesses.
The Rocky Horror Show
October 23-31, 2026
See this cult-classic rock musical live on stage at Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts. Follow Brad and Janet as they meet the wild characters at the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Fall Fest at Parc des Familles
October 24, 2026 | 11:00 am - 6:00 pm
Enjoy live music, food, games, and family-friendly activities at Parc des Familles in Marrero.
Kenner Food Truck Fest
October 25, 2026 | 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join the City of Krenner for the 5th annual Food Truck Festival at Kenner's Laketown. This free, family-friendly event features 30+ local food trucks, craft vendors, kids activities, and live performances by The Peyton Falgoust Band, Rock Show Nola, and Zebra.
St. Rita Fall Fest
November 6-8, 2026
Help raise funds for St. Rita Parish and School while making fall memories at the St. Rita Fall Fest! Throughout the weekend there will be great food, live entertainment, carnival rides, games, raffles, and a Silent Auction.
Sweeney Todd
November 6-22, 2026
Don't miss the thrilling tale of Sweeney Todd at Westwego Performing Arts Theatre! Stephen Sondheim's and Hugh Wheeler's eight-time Tony award winning musical will keep you on the edge of your seat as you follow the exiled barber on his road to revenge.
54th Annual Fall Festival at Destrehan Plantation
November 14-15, 2026 | 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Destrehan Plantation's Annual Fall Festival returns this fall! Shop from over 150 arts and crafts vendors, hunt for antiques in the Mule Barn, and enjoy live entertainment from Ryan Foret & Foret Tradition and Peyton Falgoust Band. Kids will love the pony rides, face painting, crafts, and more. Admission for a full day is $8.00 per adult or teen and free for children 12 and under. The house tour is an additional cost for adults and teens.
Halloween Events
New Orleans Nightmare Haunted House
September 19 - November 1, 2026
The world-famous 13th Floor Haunted House presents a Halloween experience like none other! Located in Jefferson, under the Huey P. Long Bridge, the haunt has two new horrifying themed attractions: Jason Universe: Survive the Night and House of Flash. New Orleans Nightmare will once again offer its signature attraction: Phobia: Sensory Overload, a fear-inducing maze that guests complete in total darkness, plus the Mini Escape Games and secret horror themed bars for patrons 21 and up.
Boo at the Zoo
October 16-18, 2026
Celebrate Halloween with your little ghosts and goblins at Boo at the Zoo. This daytime celebration is fun for the whole family and some of your favorite Audubon Zoo animals too, ensuring your experience is filled with spooktacular memories with festive décor, trick or treating, a haunted house, fun activities throughout the zoo. To add to the excitement, guests are invited to wear their favorite costumes as they partake in the festivities. Online reservations are required.
Witches & Warlocks Wine Walk
October 17, 2026 | 6:00 - 10:00 pm
Dress in your most magical costume and head to the Old Town Hall Walking Trail in Lafitte for the 2nd annual Witches & Warlocks Wine Walk for an evening of wine.
Witches' Walk at Destrehan Plantation
October 17, 2026 | 4:00 - 7:30 pm
Grab your friends and dress up as your favorite witches for an enchanted afternoon at Destrehan Plantation. Enjoy autumn-themed photo ops, guided haunted tour, treasure hunting, boutique shopping, a buffet dinner, and more. Reservations are required.
Trick or Treat
Trunk or Treat at Lafreniere Park
October 17, 2026 | 6:00-8:00 pm
Enjoy trunk or treat at beautiful Lafreniere Park! Tickets are $15 per child and children are encouraged to dress up. There will be decorated trunks, trick or treating, entertainment, and more.
Westwego Farmers Market’s Trick or Treat
October 24, 2026 | 5:00 - 8:00 pm
The Westwego Farmers Market invites you to Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 24th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Children's activities and Halloween candy will be available along with food vendors, music, a costume contest, and a pumpkin decorating contest. Admission to the event is FREE.
Lafitte Trick or Treating
October 31, 2026 | 6:00 pm
Beginning at dusk on Halloween, there will be trick or treating along the Old Town Hall Walking Trail in Lafitte.
