METAIRIE, LA – The New Orleans Zephyrs will be raising money for victims of the flooding throughout South Louisiana during their homestand from August 20-28.

From each ticket sold during the nine-game homestand, $1 will be donated to the American Red Cross “Louisiana Floods” relief fund.
“Like most who call South Louisiana home, the Zephyrs know what it is like to go through the devastation of a disaster like this,” said Zephyrs Senior Vice President and General Manager Cookie Rojas. “We are proud to stand with our neighbors in Baton Rouge and the surrounding communities to help return them to a sense of normalcy as quickly as possible.”

Preliminary estimates indicate that Red Cross response efforts could be the largest since 2012’s Superstorm Sandy and cost more than $10 million. Local officials are reporting that 10,000 homes have been damaged and more than 50 shelters have been opened to those who have been displaced by the flooding.

The Zephyrs face the Oklahoma City Dodgers and Round Rock Express for nine games beginning on Saturday, August 20 at 6 p.m. For more information, contact the Zephyrs at (504) 734-5155.
