Kenner, LA. – Kenner’s 32st annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. celebration begins with a parade at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 and concludes with a program at the Arthur P. Clay Center, 200 Decatur St.

The parade starts at Providence Baptist Church, 11509 Jefferson Highway, and continues on Jefferson Highway, also known as Rev. Richard Wilson Drive, until reaching Decatur Street. The parade then turns from Rev. Richard Wilson Drive to the Clay Center on Decatur.

The event is sponsored by the City of Kenner and District 1 Councilman Gregory W. Carroll.

“This is a wonderful celebration and it’s not just something for the people of south Kenner,” Carroll said. “I encourage everyone in the city to attend this uplifting event.”

“It is important for all of us to understand that there is more that brings us together than separate us. Dr. King’s dream called for everyone - black, white, yellow, and red - to live, work and prosper together.”
