Councilman Dominick Impastato and the Yenni Administration are working to develop a plan to encourage reinvestment, attract new development and improve the appearance in and around Lafreniere Park. Two public meetings have been held to garner’s residents’ and business owners’ input and an online survey has been created to increase participation in this important process. Residents are encouraged to visit https://publicinput.com/4017 to participate.
“At least half-century old, the development around Lafreniere Park is showing its age. The area has seen some disinvestment, and there are known issues with subsidence and traffic circulation in the area,” said District 4 Councilman Dominick Impastato. ”The Parish is interested in exploring opportunities to redevelop and/or revitalize the area. In particular, re-zoning and re-purposing the neighborhood can stimulate new growth and economic development of the area around Lafreniere Park. The purpose of the survey is to engage public input to help determine possible recommendation strategies.”
The survey will be available for participation until Friday, May 31, 2019. Thereafter, the team will host another stakeholder meeting to unveil the results.
