Gladiators Cycling is a local 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, made up of local cyclist. We ride because we are proud to do our part to Stop Diabetes. We decided to team up to change the future and make a positive impact in the lives of those who are affected by diabetes. We are committed to ride and raise money for the American Diabetes Association, not just because 29 million people in the United States have diabetes, but because we personally know some of them, and want to do something about it. We host and participate in several fundraisers throughout the year, our events range from exit door tables, to our Annual Food and Wine Social. 100% of all proceeds raised from our fundraisers benefit the American Diabetes Association.
Gladiators Cycling hosted a booth at the Annual Family Gras Festival in Metairie, La. As a food vendor we proudly served Beef brisket, chicken tenders, steak and sweet potato fries, mac & cheese, boudin, and boudin balls. Our proceeds were used to support the 25.8 million Americans who live with type 1 and type 2 diabetes
On May 9th, 2015 from 6-10 P.M., we will be hosting our 2nd annual, semi-formal, Food and Wine Social , at the Willow in New Orleans, La. Tyler Kinchen and The Right Pieces will be performing at our event, along with food, wine, cash bar, silent auction, door prizes, and socializing. Tickets will go on sale on February 1st and will be available for purchase on our website, Gladiatorscycling.com or our facebook page. In order for our event to be successful, we rely on gracious donors to provide food, and items for our silent auction.
On June 6, 2015, Gladiators Cycling will be participating in the 2015 Tour de Cure, benefiting the American Diabetes Association, to be held at Koop Drive in Mandeville, Louisiana.
Every dollar raised through Tour de Cure supports critical diabetes research, information, and advocacy. In fact, the American Diabetes Association is the only national nonprofit health organization supporting all 25.8 million Americans living with diabetes; people with both type 1 and type 2 diabetes, children and adults. In a typical year, more than 73 cents of every dollar raised supports the mission; to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected with diabetes. The American Diabetes Association holds the Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving Alliance Seal for National Charities.
As a team, united in our desire to Stop Diabetes, we rely on support from the local population. When we bring together dedicated team members and kind donors, the power we have as a group far outweighs what any of us could do alone.
