The Laketown area of Kenner is an ideal spot for those who love to spend their time outdoors. In the heart of Jefferson Parish, Laketown surrounds Lake Pontchartrain, the 630-square-mile lagoon that's home to impressive wildlife and picturesque landscapes. There are tons of fun recreational sports to do in Laketown, from biking to playing volleyball!

Let’s go fishing! The Laketown park has impressive docks to fish off of and boat ramps to get out on the water. When fishing, you have the opportunity to catch bass, speckled trout and redfish. A cleaning station and public barbecue grills are also available at the Laketown shores. Be sure to acquire a fishing license and adhere to the rules of permitted sizes and type of fish you can take home. Boating is another option at Laketown. Relax, sunbathe, and watch the sun rise or set over Lake Pontchartrain. At Laketown, multiple boat docks are easily accessible for a small fee.

Head to the lake for a game of volleyball at Coconut Beach. Top-notch volleyball courts are assembled on soft sand and overlook Lake Pontchartrain. The courts are so large that up to 15 people can play at the same time. When night falls, the courts lights up, making it easy for participants to continue their games.
