Lundi Gras in Kenner takes place on Monday and includes the meeting of the courts of the Krewe of Argus and the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club of New Orleans, a second-line parade and a free party.
The band The Topcats takes the stage at 400 Williams Boulevard beginning at 11:30 a.m. and continues until the party ends at 3 p.m. The second-line parade, from the end of Williams Boulevard near the Mississippi River, begins about 11:45 a.m.
“This is a wonderful tradition for our city, and a great way to really get into the Carnival spirit,” Kenner Mayor Ben Zahn said. “Lundi Gras is also a fantastic way to show off Rivertown. I encourage everyone to stop by and enjoy a tremendous free party.”
In addition to the concert, there will be vendors selling food and crafts.
“Like many other activities that take place in Rivertown, Lundi Gras is a New Orleans tradition designed with fun in mind for the entire family,” he said.
