JEFFERSON, LA – Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards appointed Jack Rizzuto to the Council District 4 seat Thursday afternoon. This appointment will fill the vacancy left behind by former councilman Ben Zahn who now serves as the Mayor of Kenner.

He will be sworn into office Friday, February 24, 2017 at 9am and will remain in office until a special election set for October 14, 2017.

Gov. Edwards said Friday, “Jack Rizzuto is a successful businessman, active in the community, and committed to helping the people of Jefferson Parish.”

“Jack will be an energetic representative of the citizens of District 4,” said Councilman Chris Roberts. “With his enthusiasm and drive he will hit the ground running.  On behalf of the Parish Council I congratulate him on his appointment and pledge our full cooperation to meet the needs of the citizens he know represents.”

Mr. Rizzuto is the CEO of Rizzuto Management Group, a third generation company involved in food and hospitality services.  He is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and Mr. Rizzuto serves as a member of the Jefferson Republican Parish Executive Committee and as a member of the Alliance for Good Government.
