State Senator Patrick Connick (District 8)
Sen. Connick will discuss the innovative new redevelopment proposal for the vacant Hope Haven site, which will soon be transformed into a mixed-use complex.
Biography:
Patrick Connick has proudly represented District 84 in the House of Representatives since 2008. Connick's ties to the West Bank go back generations and his commitment to the area can be seen in everything that he does. From his law practice to his volunteer work with the Hope Haven Community Garden, to his service in the State Legislature, Pat’s dedication to our community is obvious.
Working closely with Sen. Alario for over eleven years, Senator Connick has compiled an impressive record of legislative accomplishments that resulted in major improvements to our infrastructure and quality of life for the West Bank. A brief list of some of Senator Connick's legislative accomplishments includes:
- Protect shrimpers and crabbers from losses from the BP oil spill, over-regulation, and foreign imports.
- Secure hundreds of millions of federal dollars for coastal restoration
- Obtain funds to widen Ames & Barataria Blvd., a new down ramp for Mac Arthur Blvd., refurbish the 4th St. Harvey Canal Bridge, & 4th St. beautification projects
- Provide funding for preservation and restoration of Hope Haven
- Establish 3-D mammogram technology as the minimum standard for Louisiana’s women
- Obtain millions of state dollars for improvements to Parc de Familles
